one of the 9

when I got to wilshire to cross, there were 3 people waiting on my side and another 6 on the other side. normally, I would push the button for the light but with so many people waiting, i assume somebody must have pushed it.

when the light changed, the walk signal stayed red. that meant that out of the 9 people before me, not one person pushed the walk button because everyone assume somebody else pushed it. but what about the very first person that got there. He or she must have known nobody else pushed it. why didn’t he push it? lazy? assumed you don’t have to push the button to cross? busy texting?

notice that just like the 9 others, i didn’t push it either.

what does this have to do with anything? it’s a life lesson. if you can’t figure out what this means to you, then you are one of the 9. or the 10.
